Unveiling the Gigabit Train 

Gigabit track-to-train connectivity has been touted as essential to transform how we experience rail travel. However, to date, the so-called ‘Gigabit Train’ has been little more than just a concept. 

The Blu Wireless mmWave technology for rail has now been proven in practice to deliver gigabit connectivity, bringing the Gigabit Train concept to life across two key commuter lines in the USA on Caltrain, Silicon Valley and SWR, London UK.

A Pioneering Partnership in Rail Connectivity 

Recently, Ependion’s business entity Westermo entered into a strategic partnership agreement to use Blu Wireless’ patented mmWave wireless technology in the rail market. 

At this year’s InnoTrans, Blu Wireless is carrying out their first joint demo of LightningBlu alongside Westermo. 

Blu Wireless’ solution requires zero configuration time if implemented as part of the Westermo suite of products, complementing the overall Westermo Internet on board solution.
