InnoTrans 2024: Blu Wireless set to transform rail with high-speed connectivity

InnoTrans is the industry-leading international trade fair for transport technology, and we will be showcasing our innovative mmWave wireless solutions in Hall 4.1, Stand 680.

Reinforcing our partnership with Westermo

At the event, we will be sharing the spotlight with our key partner, Westermo. This collaboration builds on the recent announcement that Westermo entered into a strategic partnership agreement to use Blu Wireless’ patented mmWave wireless technology in the rail market.

We have gained a strong industrial partner in the rail sector in Westermo that will help further expand our footprint and commercialise our mmWave wireless technology.

Transforming rail connectivity

Blu Wireless’ solution for the rail sector offers unparalleled data speeds and connectivity, which are crucial for modernising railway systems and enhancing passenger experience. Connectivity on trains is currently limited in performance, with users either having to use their own phones or utilising the train’s Wi-Fi network.

In the UK, trains tend to run across areas where mobile network coverage has not been optimised. Therefore, trains are currently offering between 15 to 30 MB speeds per train, which then need to serve all the passengers; sometimes hundreds of users at a time.

By leveraging mmWave wireless technology, Blu Wireless is addressing some of these key challenges faced by the transport sector today, including the need for reliable, high-capacity wireless communication in fast-moving environments. In fact, our technology has a transformative potential in the rail industry. It is set to bring a step change in operational efficiency and enhance passenger experience through better connectivity.

In addition to showcasing existing solutions, we have an exciting announcement scheduled for InnoTrans: the launch of a ground-breaking new product for the rail industry.
